A collaboration calls for photos before use, after two weeks and after a month. Asking for “all assets” at month-end will not manage that assignment. Establish the actual start date, agree how each stage will be photographed and submitted, and record what really happens. Do not make a visible improvement the expected outcome of the shoot.

A [skincare recruitment post](https://www.reddit.com/r/UGCcreators/comments/1kuigvw/paid%5Fskincare%5Fbrand%5Fbefore%5Fafter%5Fphotos/?ref=blog.onecrewai.io) requested before-use, immediate, two-week and one-month photos. The useful element here is the staged delivery structure. This article does not adopt its product claims or present that schedule as skincare advice.

## Establish the real starting point

Separate the agreement date, delivery date, baseline-photo date and actual start of use. Calculate later checkpoints from the real start, and specify what “two weeks” or “one month” means for this engagement, including dates and submission windows. A late start cannot be corrected by renaming a later photograph.

[OneCrew](https://onecrewai.io/?ref=blog.onecrewai.io) supports creator email workflows and project tables. Record the actual start, stage, agreed photo date, file link and next update. Use the synced conversation to prepare a reminder for the stage currently due, rather than asking for every file at once.

![Photos and checks are recorded separately at the start, two weeks and one month](https://storage.ghost.io/c/2d/ee/2deeacfe-d870-4a0c-a406-95a0ad33ad67/content/images/2026/09/creator-before-after-photo-timeline-body-en.png)

Build checkpoints from the real start and document each stage honestly.

## Record capture time separately from delivery time

When a photo was taken determines which checkpoint it represents. When it was submitted determines delivery progress. Keep both. Fill in the dates only after the actual start has been confirmed.

| Stage | Record | Acceptance check |
| ------------------------------ | ------------------------------------------------------------ | -------------------------------------------------------------------- |
| Before use | Capture date, conditions and original file | Was it taken before the agreed starting point? |
| Agreed intermediate checkpoint | Actual capture date, intervening changes and submission time | Does it truthfully represent this stage, with comparable conditions? |
| Agreed final checkpoint | Final files, actual use history and outstanding items | Completeness and accuracy without a predetermined visual result |

Add a separate row for an immediate photo if it is part of the scope. Agree the files, feedback timing and any stage-based payment terms in advance. Payment follows the agreement; visible improvement should not silently become the default acceptance condition.

## Use consistent conditions to preserve an accurate record

Agree comparable lighting, camera position, distance, angle and background where feasible, and record deviations. Do not darken the “before” image or brighten the “after” image to manufacture a difference. Filters and retouching should not create an apparent result. In advertising, the pictures themselves can communicate an efficacy claim alongside the copy.

FTC health-product guidance for US advertising requires appropriate support for objective claims; a consumer testimonial does not replace the evidence a claim needs. Have the advertising reviewer assess the proposed use and wording separately. Completing a photo schedule does not prove efficacy.

In OneCrew, keep capture instructions, original-file locations and advertising-use review as distinct entries. A stage reminder can ask for a missing file or an explanation of changed conditions. It should not ask the creator to “make the result more obvious.”

## Record interruptions and missed checkpoints honestly

If the creator starts late, pauses or misses a photo, record what happened and agree whether to reschedule, add an explanation or end that stage. A missed baseline cannot be recreated later and labeled as earlier. Any additional photo must carry its real timing. Do not pressure someone to keep using a product for the sake of the assets or improvise health advice if they report discomfort.

> Stage reminder: Hi \[name\], based on your confirmed start date of \[date\], the agreed photo checkpoint is \[date/window\]. Please follow \[capture instructions\], record the actual circumstances and submit \[file scope\] by \[time\].
>
> If the start date, shooting conditions or use history differs from the plan, please include that information. We will confirm how to document this stage and adjust the next one. There is no need to reconstruct an experience or produce a predetermined visual result.

If illness interrupts the schedule, also see [A Creator Is Unwell: How Should the Brand Reschedule?](https://blog.onecrewai.io/en/creator-illness-deadline-reschedule/).

For the next multiweek engagement, create the stage records and actual starting point in OneCrew, then prepare the corresponding messages. Each checkpoint should leave a verifiable date, file and decision.
