Your brand dashboard shows a commission record. The creator says their page is empty. Sending your screenshot again proves only what your side displays. They may be signed into another account, using a different date range, or viewing available payouts while you're looking at pending earnings.

Compare the same creator, store, period, and status first. Until the difference is explained, don't label it a platform outage or promise an arrival date for money that hasn't reached the payment stage.

## Define what is missing

Ask whether the creator can't find the partnership, can't see earnings for a period, or can see a balance but can't withdraw it. On the brand side, record the page name, displayed status, currency, and time range. Agree on the question before asking for more evidence.

OneCrew is an AI workspace that helps teams organize creator information and partnership communications. Ask an AI connected to OneCrew to review the existing conversation, then provide the confirmed screen details. Have it separate the conditions already matched from the information still missing. Review that list before drafting one focused request.

Don't ask for complete login or payment details to identify an account. Confirm the relevant partnership account and whether the brand is visible. If a screenshot is needed, retain the area that explains the issue and remove unrelated personal, order, and payment information.

## Compare the screens under matching conditions

Before comparing totals, check:

| Item | Brand-side question | Creator-side question |
| ------ | ----------------------------------- | ---------------------------------------------------------------------- |
| Person | Which creator and relationship? | Which partnership account is signed in? |
| Store | Which store and region? | Which brand or partnership is open? |
| Time | Which dates and relevant time zone? | Is the same range selected? |
| Status | What does the record actually say? | Is this earnings, pending activity, available payout, or another view? |
| Amount | Which currency and reporting basis? | Is a filter or conversion affecting the display? |

These are comparison dimensions, not universal platform fields. Where a platform doesn't expose something, keep the gap visible rather than filling it in to make the two screens agree.

Compare the screens under matching conditions before diagnosing the difference.

## Separate a commission record from money ready to receive

Shopify Collabs, for example, describes viewing commission within a partnership separately from payout setup in its [creator payment guidance](https://help.shopify.com/en/manual/promoting-marketing/collabs/creators/payments?ref=blog.onecrewai.io). Its [merchant payment guidance](https://help.shopify.com/en/manual/promoting-marketing/collabs/merchants/payments?ref=blog.onecrewai.io) also explains a holding period and subsequent processing. A record on the brand side alone doesn't establish that the creator can withdraw it now.

Copy the actual displayed status and consult the platform's current explanation. If the record is visible but funds can't be received, investigate the relevant setup or payment stage. If the partnership itself is missing, check invitation acceptance first. “Wait a little longer” isn't a diagnosis for every case.

In OneCrew, preserve the identified stage, responsible owner, and next check. Ask the AI to draft an update from those confirmed facts. Submitting a support request is different from resolving the issue, and a finance team hasn't committed to a payment date simply because a draft contains one.

## Request the minimum useful information once

> **Subject:** \[Brand\] — checking the commission display
>
> Hi \[name\], our \[page name\] shows a record for \[date range\], in \[currency\], with the status \[exact wording\]. To make sure we're comparing the same item, could you confirm:Can you see \[brand/store\] in the partnership account you're currently using? What page, date range, and status are you viewing? Is the record missing, or is the amount visible but you can't proceed with payment?
>
> If a screenshot helps, please include only the relevant area and error message, with unrelated personal and payment information removed. Don't send passwords or verification codes. \[Owner\] will bring the details together and respond with the next check by \[time and time zone\].

Remove questions already answered. The promised time should be a response deadline the owner can meet, not an unverified payout date.

## Give support a difference it can investigate

Collect the occurrence time, affected relationship, screen conditions, necessary screenshots, and actions already tried. “The brand sees pending commission, while the creator sees no record for the same relationship and dates” is a more useful report than “the system isn't working.”

Add the support reference and reply to the related notes in OneCrew while preserving previous communication. After support responds, ask the creator to check under the same conditions. If a filter caused the difference, record the correct view. If the amount itself remains disputed, track that as a separate reconciliation question rather than calling the case settled because the screen now displays a number.

Use the [campaign-data request guide](https://blog.onecrewai.io/en/collect-creator-campaign-screenshots/) to organize a concise evidence request, and the [time-zone scheduling guide](https://blog.onecrewai.io/en/creator-campaign-timezone-scheduling/) for an unambiguous response deadline. Start in OneCrew with the existing commission inquiry, write down the two screen conditions, and draft the next question around the actual difference.
