A creator is unwell and cannot deliver Wednesday's draft. The first useful questions are which deadline is truly fixed and when both sides can revisit the plan. Repeatedly asking for the draft will not answer either question, and the brand should not promise an extension before checking its own constraints.

In a [public post about creator illness](https://www.linkedin.com/posts/jessica-erickson-itk%5Fone-of-my-creators-has-been-ill-this-week-activity-7470832729245331456-vwH5?ref=blog.onecrewai.io), a manager described brands pressing for content well before publication to allow internal review time. It illustrates why draft, review and launch dates should be discussed separately.

## Identify what is fixed and why

List the original draft, feedback, final-file and publication dates, with a reason for each. A booked event and an individual reviewer's availability are different constraints. Ask the internal owner what can move, whether another reviewer can help and whether parts can be reviewed separately before proposing a revised plan.

OneCrew is a workspace for creator information, collaboration records and email. Refer to the relevant synced emails and save confirmed dates, owners and changes in a table. The team can then work from actual commitments instead of treating a single calendar entry as the whole agreement.

## Agree on an update time, not a recovery prediction

The creator may not know when they will recover. Ask when they are comfortable updating you, whether any existing material can be handed over, and which tasks need to pause. Routine scheduling does not require detailed medical information. Share only the project information the wider team needs.

> Thanks for letting us know. Please take care of yourself. We are checking the flexibility around \[actual launch milestone\]. Would \[mutually acceptable time\] work for an update? If anything is already ready to hand over, let us know its status; there is no need to keep filming now. We will confirm \[review adjustment or backup content\] on our side and agree new delivery dates together.

When asking your connected AI to prepare a OneCrew email draft, include the necessary project context and only information appropriate to share. Check dates and internal approvals before sending. The draft should not predict recovery or promise a change the brand has not approved.

If delivery is uncertain, agree on the next update first.

## Match the backup to the actual gap

| Situation | Option to discuss |
| -------------------------- | ---------------------------------------------------- |
| Only review is outstanding | Change the reviewer or review order |
| Some footage exists | Agree a revised handover or editing plan |
| Filming cannot proceed | Delay this content and assess existing usable assets |
| Launch cannot move | Discuss a reduced scope or another feasible option |

Check rights before reusing older material and availability before relying on another creator. Replacement production, additional editing and scope changes may affect fees or existing commitments. Confirm those separately; a backup plan does not automatically become the original creator's additional obligation.

## Issue one revised schedule when it is agreed

Put the new draft, review, final-file and launch dates in one message, with time zones and a clear statement of what replaces the old plan. The [time-zone scheduling checklist](https://blog.onecrewai.io/en/creator-campaign-timezone-scheduling/) helps with cross-border teams. If a delivery date is still unknown, retain the next update time rather than inventing a deadline.

Save the latest confirmation and unresolved points in OneCrew so the next colleague uses the same plan. The aim is an executable next step and clear, reasonable communication during an unexpected delay.
