The parcel is already open when the brand asks for a complete first unboxing. Some of that footage can no longer be captured as a genuine first opening. **Agree on the unboxing plan before delivery: separate one-time moments from details that can be filmed later, and explain whom to contact if the parcel arrives damaged or incorrect.**

## Identify what changes when the box is opened

The sealed exterior, the original arrangement inside, and the order in which items are removed can all change during unboxing. Decide why each moment matters to this video, then select the necessary shots. Every possible action does not need to become a requirement.

Keep addresses and order details out of the shot or obscure them appropriately. If you need to show a seal or packaging condition, identify the relevant area in advance. Authenticity does not require exposing the entire shipping label.

OneCrew organizes creator details, collaboration worksheets, and email conversations. Record instructions the creator needs before opening separately from general creative notes, then prepare a short reminder using the shipment email history. The critical instruction should be easy to find.

## Separate first-opening footage from later detail shots

| Shot type | How to arrange it |
| ------------------ | ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- |
| Original state | Sealed parcel, first opening, and initial arrangement; confirm capture before opening |
| Repeatable details | Material close-ups, accessory views, and separate demonstrations; schedule as appropriate |
| Exceptions | Damage or incorrect items; retain relevant evidence and ask the project contact for the next step |

Confirm the one-time shots before the parcel is opened.

If a continuous recording can preserve the sequence, agree on framing, orientation, and sound before the opening. Whether the deliverable includes continuous source footage, an edited video, or both is part of the production scope and usage agreement. Do not assume extra files are included after the work is done.

## Capture the first opening without scripting the reaction

You can ask for a clear view of the seal being broken and the product coming out. You cannot guarantee surprise, praise, or a first-use conclusion at a particular second. A genuine response may be quiet, and a meaningful opinion may require more time with the product.

If the box has already been opened, find out what real footage exists. Additional product close-ups or a clearly described unboxing demonstration may be useful alternatives. Do not reseal the box and present a reenactment as the creator's first reaction. Agree on any resulting changes to script, schedule, and fees.

Keep the available footage, missing shots, and accepted alternative in OneCrew. A follow-up draft can specify the missing shot, its purpose, and whether it can be captured, instead of leaving the creator to interpret “make the unboxing more complete.”

## A reminder to send before delivery

> Hi \[name\], this video needs \[first-opening shots\]. Please review \[short shot list\] before opening the parcel. Keep shipping labels and other private details out of frame. The remaining product details can be captured according to \[filming plan\].
>
> If the parcel is already open, damaged, or contains the wrong item, contact \[person\] first. We'll review the available footage and agree on the next step. There is no need to recreate a first reaction to complete the list.

## Review the footage and the way it is described

Check that the necessary actions are understandable, the product matches the order, and the title or voiceover accurately describes what happened. A demonstration of a product already used can still be valuable; describe that experience honestly. The shot list should support a real record of the process.

If source footage is added after booking, [agree on the additional delivery scope](https://blog.onecrewai.io/en/creator-raw-footage-additional-delivery/), including files, use, and workload.

For the next shipment in OneCrew, separate first-opening moments from repeatable details and confirm the plan before arrival. The most useful instruction is the one the creator sees while the seal is still intact.
