A creator starts comparing two titles. One brand reviewer requests a wording change; another asks for a new thumbnail. The creator makes the edits, stopping the test while the team still thinks the original versions are being compared.

Review the complete set before launch. Confirm the facts in every title and thumbnail, identify the approved combinations, and agree how changes will be handled during the test. If a substantive issue needs correction, explicitly stop and address it.

## Approve the full set, not just the default

Request all planned titles, thumbnail files and pairings. Assign stable version IDs. Check the product name, model, factual claims, conditions and use of supplied materials in every option. Different creative angles can be useful; an option should not promise a result the video does not support.

OneCrew is an AI workspace for creator information, partnership records and email. Give the AI connected to OneCrew the creator's version list. Have it inspect the existing partnership table before organizing IDs, file references, reviewers and open revisions. An approval should identify the actual set, rather than a generic “title approved” that could be applied to later additions.

## Check eligibility and change behavior

[YouTube's current A/B testing guidance](https://support.google.com/youtube/answer/16391400?hl=en&ref=blog.onecrewai.io) allows eligible creators to compare up to three titles and/or thumbnails in desktop Studio, with advanced features enabled. Shorts, scheduled live streams, ongoing Premieres, and videos that are made for kids, age-restricted or private are ineligible. Completed Premieres that become long-form videos and live archives can qualify. Have the creator check the actual video in their Studio account before planning the test.

Changing the video's title or thumbnail during a test automatically stops it and requires a restart. YouTube evaluates results using watch time, rather than simply selecting the highest click-through rate. A test may also produce no clear winner.

Approve the full set and record a new test version after a change.

## Separate preferences from necessary corrections

“I prefer the other image” can be recorded for the results discussion. An incorrect model, misleading product image or unsupported claim needs timely review by the responsible person. Preserving a test does not justify leaving a factual error in place.

If a change stops the test, record the reason, versions at that point and the new start. The replacement test is not an uninterrupted continuation. Keep the two periods distinct in reporting, and route feedback through one contact so the creator receives a coherent instruction.

Use the relevant email and version record in OneCrew to prepare one feedback draft. State whether the request is a preference or a factual correction, whether a pause is required, which option changes and who confirms it. Update the original record after the reply, preserving the old-versus-new distinction.

## A creator confirmation template

> Hi \[Name\], the approved test options are \[IDs and file references\] for \[video\]. Please launch with this set and share the start time and subsequent results. During the test, \[contact\] will consolidate ordinary creative preferences for review afterward. For \[actual issue requiring correction\], contact \[decision owner\] to agree the response and record any stop/restart versions. At completion, we will review the platform result separately from the agreed sponsorship delivery.

Before saving the draft in OneCrew, check for unreviewed additions and wording that turns a packaging test into a sales claim. The comparison concerns this video under its test conditions. The brand still needs reporting suited to its own collaboration objective.

After testing, use the [creator performance-feedback method](https://blog.onecrewai.io/en/creator-ad-performance-feedback/) to distinguish observations from possible causes before requesting new production.

Start in OneCrew with the full set the creator wants to test. Confirm the facts and reviewer for each version before launch. That gives the creator a stable scope to run.
